Meet Our Founder
Blessing Iheomachi Nwachukwu, fondly called Buluzo, is a Nigerian Lawyer, a visual artist and a US-certified Privacy Practitioner. She founded the Buluzo Foundation in response to a moment of honest shock and concern. One day, she realized that the cost of menstrual products had risen so high in Nigeria that even working-class women were struggling to afford them. If women with jobs were finding it difficult, she wondered, 'what about young girls in low-income communities? What about students? What about those who do not even have a stable source of income?'
That thought stayed with her.
Blessing grew up understanding the importance of education and the opportunities it offers the girl child in a society still not accustomed to women's empowerment. But realizing that pads had become a luxury was the final push. She couldn’t shake the image of girls improvising unsafe alternatives or skipping school because they didn’t have access to basic menstrual care.
Team and Volunteers' Corner
Meet the volunteers who make our work possible.

Buluzo would always say that we are the organization's most valuable resource. I started volunteering with the Buluzo Foundation as a teenager. Buluzo Foundation trusted me to represent them at events, which sharpened my public speaking skills. Now at my university, I am commended for my presentation skills, all thanks to BuluzoFoundation.
Blessing Johnson.
