Who are we?

Buluzo Foundation is committed to ending period poverty and ensuring that every girl can access menstrual health products, education, and dignity.

We empower young people, build community support systems, and create safe spaces where girls can learn, lead, and thrive.

Our Mission

The Problem

Rising menstrual product costs and persistent stigma prevent girls from managing their periods safely and confidently leading to health risks, absenteeism, and social exclusion.

Buluzo Foundation is addressing this gap to ensure every girl can manage her period safely and confidently.

Our Model

We provide menstrual products, education, and school-based support systems that empower girls to manage their periods with dignity and confidence.

Our Projects

Take a sneek peek into the work we have done so far with the help of our God-given resources.

Menstrual Kit Bank Project

This is our flagship initiative providing girls in underserved communities with free, reliable access to menstrual products and accurate menstrual health education.

Beyond distributing kits, we train student ambassadors, engage boys as allies, and support schools to establish permanent “Period Corners” that ensure no girl has to miss class because of her period.

To date, the project has reached over 1,300 girls—restoring dignity, improving school attendance, and breaking the silence around menstruation.

Art for Change

Our Participatory Art Project creates a safe space for girls to express their experiences with menstruation through art.

During our community sessions, this was first piloted during our partnership with The Otherhood Corner. Girls are guided to paint, draw, or write what their period means to them: their fears, questions, pride, or strength.

The Trans-African Dialogue is a cross-continental platform that brings together young leaders, educators, and advocates from across Africa to discuss menstrual health, gender equality, and the cultural narratives that shape girls' experiences.

Through open dialogue, shared learning, and storytelling, we build solidarity, challenge stigma, and create a united voice for menstrual dignity across the continent.

Trans-African Dialogue

Gen Z for Social Impact is our youth volunteer program that equips young people with the tools, community, and confidence to drive real change. We train and mentor passionate Gen Z volunteers to lead school outreaches, support project implementation, and champion menstrual dignity in their own communities.

Since launching, over fifty (50) dedicated volunteers have joined and grown through the program, learning to organize, speak, teach, and serve with purpose.
