Welcome to the

Buluzo Foundation.

Securing the Next Generation, One Period At a Time.

What We Do

Buluzo Foundation addresses period poverty by providing menstrual products, delivering menstrual health education, and fostering intergenerational and intergender conversations that challenge stigma and misinformation.

Through school-based period banks, volunteer-led outreach, and community engagement, we ensure that adolescent girls can manage menstruation with dignity and without barriers to their education or wellbeing.

Our Project So Far.

A peek into our impact in our community.

Menstrual Kit Bank Project

This is our flagship initiative providing girls in underserved communities with free, reliable access to menstrual products and accurate menstrual health educatio. Beyond distributing kits, we train student ambassadors, engage boys as allies, and support schools to establish permanent “Period Corners” that ensure no girl has to miss class because of her period. To date, the project is restoring dignity, improving school attendance, and breaking the silence around menstruation.

Art for Change

Our Participatory Art Project creates a safe space for girls to express their experiences with menstruation through art. During our community sessions, this was first piloted during our partnership with The Otherhood Corner. Girls are guided to paint, draw, or write what their period means to them: their fears, questions, pride, or strength.

The Trans-African Dialogue is a cross-continental platform that brings together young leaders, educators, and advocates from across Africa to discuss menstrual health, gender equality, and the cultural narratives that shape girls' experiences. Through open dialogue, shared learning, and storytelling, we build solidarity, challenge stigma, and create a united voice for menstrual dignity across the continent.

Trans-African Dialogue

Our mission is to remove the burden of menstrual product costs from adolescent girls by facilitating access to period products through donations, delivering timely and accurate menstrual health education, and encouraging intergenerational and intergender conversations that challenge stigma and misinformation around menstruation.

Our Mission

The Problem

Rising menstrual product costs and persistent stigma prevent girls from managing their periods safely and confidently leading to health risks, absenteeism, and social exclusion. Buluzo Foundation is addressing this gap to ensure every girl can manage her period safely and confidently.

Our Model

We provide menstrual products, education, and school-based support systems that empower girls to manage their periods with dignity and confidence.
